Samsung Launches TV For Business and Color E-Paper

Samsung unveiled their first color E-ink TV for business and technology at the InfoComm event yesterday. Both of these TVs are designed to be used in restaurants, shops and even offices with different needs than the commercial ones offered for home use.

Samsung Color E-Paper is a TV designed to replace in-store paper advertising materials. It uses E Ink Spectra 6 technology that keeps the final image displayed even after no electrical source is connected. This TV is 32″ with QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440) and can display 60,000 colors.

Through a special application, the owner can control the content to be displayed and schedule when the image needs to be changed to diversify the advertising inside the business premises. Each TV comes with up to 8GB of storage and USB-C connectivity.

The second TV announced is the Samsung Business TV BED family in sizes 43, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 or 85 inches with UHD resolution. With a variety of sizes, Samsung Business TV BED is designed for use in restaurants, educational premises, small businesses and even offices.

It supports various content management systems such as SmartThings Pro and Samsung VXT that are already offered to commercial customers. In addition, it can also be controlled using a dedicated Samsung Business TV application.

Simultaneously with the announcement of two new models of TVs for business, Samsung also announced the new SmartThings Pro platform. Like SmartThings for the masses, SmartThings Pro is used to not only control Internet-connected Samsung devices but also smart products from Cisco, Aqaea and Quividi.

Samsung is targeting the use of SmartThings Pro by business organizations such as hospitality. An operator can control various smart devices using SmartThings Pro locally to control lights, smart TVs, and electrical appliances without having to be physically present.
