Maybank in a statement announced that they will end all updates to the Maybank2U MY application from 30 June 2024. At the same time, it will no longer be downloadable from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery after that date. Even so, Maybank says the Maybank2U application that is already installed on any current smartphone can still be used for now.
Maybank is encouraging a full transition to the MAE application to ensure a constantly improved and updated online banking experience. Furthermore, the MAE application itself has every feature offered in the Maybank2u MY application. It is even more complete with additional banking functions as well as enhanced security measures to further protect the consumer's banking affairs.
In addition to Maybank, CIMB had also previously announced that it would no longer offer the CIMBClicks application, and asked users to download CIMB OCTO instead.
