Anduril And Microsoft Work Together To Improve IVAS Headset Capabilities

The Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) augmented reality headset project was developed by Microsoft for the use of the United States military and is based on HoloLens technology. Now Anduril announced a collaboration with Microsoft to support the Lattice operating system they developed on IVAS.

The founder of Anduril Palmer Luckey said, with Lattice integration soldiers who wear IVAS will have the senses of a superhero. Information from various sensors on the battlefield can be displayed in real time on set to IVAS.

For example, drones in the air may detect enemy positions that are hidden and this location will be shared directly with infantry members on the ground. It can also warn of the existence of enemy drones that are hunting them.

Although this project is several years old and more than 5000 headsets have been produced, it faces various problems such as failing to operate perfectly in the field and causing discomfort. IVAS is the only headset project Microsoft is still developing after HoloLens' bleak, directionless future beyond 2022.
