When Elon Musk developed SpaceX, he had a dream to bring humans to the planet Mars to settle there. After 22 years of starting the company, he seems confident to start the next step in achieving that dream.
It is reported that within the next two years, Elon Musk wants to send five unmanned spacecraft to Mars when the range of travel to the planet opens. This is to test if it is safe to send these ships to the planet, and if they can land safely.
If successful, a crewed mission will begin two years after the successful landing. But if it doesn't work, they'll delay the crewed flight for another two years, and maybe test sending an unmanned ship again to make sure it works first.
Elon Musk is seen to have changed the launch date of SpaceX's spacecraft to Mars several times. NASA is also seen as likely to use the company's services for launching to the moon. Various test flights have been seen lately, and we expect that the maiden flight to Mars will be something that people will be looking forward to, whether it succeeds or not.
