Mesolitica is one of the local firms that develop speech modeling and artificial intelligence solutions. Most recently, Mesolitica demonstrated the capabilities of a brand new text-to-speech model, optimized for the Malaysian voice and context. This latest development is expected to be integrated into voice-based virtual assistant platform offerings in the future.
Along with the development of artificial intelligence-powered voice technology, Mesolitica also shared the development of support for voice cloning capabilities – allowing simple voice samples to be used and subsequently generating various future voice audios using them.
Under the demo that was shown, they used Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's voice to read out a number of texts related to their offer, and the demo showed fluent reading in saying Malaysian words.
With the development of this technology as well, Mesolitica calls on the authorities and policy makers to come up with clear guidelines in regulating it as soon as possible - especially involving the use of voice technology.
Mesolitica is expected to offer an open source model for this text-to-speech technology in the near future, focusing on research and educational use.
