Gemini Will Soon Be Able to Detect Events in Gmail to Add to Google Calendar

Gemini in Gmail is now getting better. Google recently announced an update to Gemini built into Gmail. If there was previously a compose email button, the latest is a button to add events directly to Google Calendar.

Gemini can now detect event details that may be present in any email content. If detected, the Add to Calendar button will appear and users can press it to directly add it to Google Calendar. Gemini will also confirm to users that the event has been added.

What is special about this feature? Doesn't Gmail already have an event detection feature? With Gemini, after pressing the add event to Calendar button – users can continue chatting such as asking about the location, asking for advice on parking, or can also chat about directions and traffic. This feature will be distributed to all users in stages starting today until April 10.
