Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has now issued an order to ride-hailing companies such as Gojek and Grab in Indonesia, to give festive bonuses to ride-hailing drivers under them, in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
In Indonesia, there are around 250,000 active ride-hailing drivers, in addition to 1.5 million who work full-time in the same arena. Previously, service providers rarely considered their fellow riders as company employees, thus not paying any festive bonuses and others. With the order from the Indonesian government, this will change the method.
Touching on this, Grab said that the bonus calculation will be done based on several things, including achievements, successfully completed orders, order completion rate, driver ratings, and also the active time.
The Indonesian government aims with this bonus order, it will also ensure that those working in the ride-hailing arena will be able to celebrate and spend time during Hari Raya Aidilfitri in good conditions.
