At MWC 2025 today, TECNO has introduced the TECNO AI Glasses series which so far has two models. These new TECNO glasses are said to be competitors and also alternatives to Meta Ray-Ban. Are these the glasses that everyone dreams of or are they still gimmicks by manufacturers who are playing catch-up in this AI era?
TECNO AI Glasses Pro
These are their flagship AI glasses, where all the structure and internal design of the glasses have been designed in-house. For example, the 50MP camera is placed on the nose instead of on the frame on the side of the eyes. The entire glasses are lighter, but can accommodate two physical buttons and a touch pad on the side of the stem. TECNO AI Glasses Pro is powered by the AstraSight 6nm processing chip.
Don't forget that the speaker of these glasses is better, stronger and louder with an audio driver measuring almost 2cm. Interestingly, for the Ai feature - TECNO includes a TECNO AI model which is said to have incorporated various Bahasa Raya models in it. TECNO explains that they include DeepSeek, Gemini and ChatGPT – but the specific model is not disclosed. TECNO AI Glasses Pro also does not require any subscription, which makes me feel like – using AI requires an account with an active subscription.
These AI glasses are also part of the TECNO AI ecosystem that allows users to use these glasses with TECNO phones, tablets, and laptops. What makes these glasses unique is that they have a bright and very clear neon green display. TECNO uses microLED screen technology, similar to the Meizu MYVU glasses and Oppo Air Glasses glasses. However, the lenses on them are designed with light waveguide technology and do not hurt the user's eyes.
TECNO AI Glasses
These are their basic AI glasses. They offer a Meta-like use of Ray-Ban where there is no screen. Just think of it as TWS in the format of glasses. What makes the use of TECNO AI Glasses more attractive than Meta is, more flexible AI support. For example, these glasses are ready to support a real-time translation feature that is quite stable. Meta requires users to register for the early access program.
A 50MP camera for video recording and taking pictures is included on the side of the glasses. Stereo speakers, physical buttons, a touchpad and a full-day battery can be enjoyed with these glasses. Both glasses have more or less the same specifications with the only difference being the position of the camera and the Pro having a screen. Battery technology, AI and speakers are all the same.
TECNO also did not hesitate to compare their glasses to the Ray-Ban Meta. They believe that they are the two greatest glasses ever produced in the world. TECNO did not reveal when they will sell these glasses. However, if users in Malaysia express interest in buying them officially – TECNO Malaysia will consider bringing these glasses.
