Samsung QN990F and QN900F 8K Neo QLED TVs have been officially launched in Malaysia today. Like all their products since last year, they feature artificial intelligence (AI) called Vision AI and wireless input connectivity capabilities that have never been offered before.
Wireless One Connect technology allows content to be streamed from a One Connect box to a TV at 8K 120Hz resolution completely wirelessly up to 10 meters and even through obstacles. This means that the TV only needs to be plugged into a power cord without multiple HDMI cables. This is an evolution of the One Connect Box which uses a single thin cable to connect to the TV.
This is a fairly minimalist solution to the issue of tangled cables when connecting to consoles, PCs, TV boxes, DVD players and audio systems. The One Connect box will be a hub that can be hidden from view.
In addition, the Vision AI system can automatically generate subtitles for content when it is not offered on the selected platform. It can also generate TV background images using generative AI like Galaxy devices can do.
The Click to Search feature can also offer information about the content being watched such as actors and suggest other content that can be watched. It also performs a visual upgrade process to 8K resolution from the original resolution.
Even cuter is the Pet Care feature that when detecting a dog at home barking, for example, it will continue to play content that can calm it. All of this is done using the NQ8 AI Gen 3 chip which has a 1.3x CPU, 2.2x GPU and 2x NPU faster than the previous generation.
Two models are offered, namely the Samsung QN990F and Samsung QN900F with the selling price as below. At this time, Samsung has opened pre-orders for both TVs until June 1. Customers who pre-order will receive a soundbar unit worth RM6,499.
