Vivo V50 Lite 5G comes with a more modern and premium design compared to the V40 Lite 5G with clear changes in terms of dimensions and finish. This device has a thick camera bump that resembles the style of the Samsung Galaxy A56. Although this change may be less comfortable for some users, it does not affect the user experience and still maintains a modern and premium look.

In addition, although the size of the Aura Light is smaller, it does not affect the lighting when taking pictures. The camera can still produce clear and bright pictures, providing a good photography experience.

The lens arrangement is still in a vertical position, but now each lens has a different size and is no longer uniform as before. Although it looks less balanced, the design of this camera still maintains the distinctive style of Vivo devices that are already known.

In terms of user experience, this device is comfortable due to its ergonomic design and surface that is suitable for hand grip. It is easy to operate for a long time without causing discomfort.

In addition, with a thickness of only 7.8 mm, the V50 Lite 5G is still considered thin, making it easy to hold with one hand and easy to store in a pocket or small bag. However, for users who like to wear skinny jeans, the device may protrude slightly when stored in a pocket depending on the thickness of the fabric and the size of their respective pockets.

The V50 Lite 5G comes with a back design with a matte finish for a more comfortable feel in the hand. Compared to the V40 Lite 5G which has a glossy finish, the V50 Lite 5G is more resistant to oil stains and fingerprints, making it easier to maintain.

Although made of plastic, this device has a solid build. When pressed, it does not flex or produce hollow sounds, and even provides a comfortable usage experience in daily use.

The V50 Lite 5G comes in three attractive colors, namely Titanium Gold which provides a luxurious style and is suitable for those who want to look more exclusive. Phantom Black as a classic choice with a minimalist design for users who prioritize a professional appearance. Fantasy Purple also shows a modern color that is suitable for those who want to stand out more.

The right side of the device has the power button and audio knob on the top, while the left side has a SIM slot with dual Nano SIM support. In addition, this device is also equipped with an infrared sensor and a speaker on the top. The V50 Lite 5G also supports a stereo audio system, with another speaker on the bottom near the USB-C port.

In terms of sound, the V50 Lite 5G has a common problem in the stereo system, where the sound from the top speaker is slower than the bottom. This problem often occurs on many phones. However, the device's ability to increase the sound by up to 400% provides a louder and clearer audio experience. In addition, this device has a fast and responsive in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The V50 Lite 5G brings some interesting improvements in terms of the screen compared to the V40 Lite 5G. This device uses a 6.77-inch OLED screen, slightly larger than the 6.67-inch AMOLED on the V40 Lite 5G. With a screen-to-body ratio of 94.2%, it provides a wider display and a more immersive viewing experience. This makes it very suitable for watching videos, playing games, and reading digital content more comfortably.

In terms of refresh rate, both devices support 120Hz to ensure smooth screen animations and movements. However, the advantage of the V50 Lite 5G lies in the V50 Lite 5G's screen technology which offers clearer color contrast and higher brightness levels compared to the V40 Lite 5G.

This makes the V50 Lite 5G stand out in different lighting conditions for a brighter and clearer display. This difference may not be very noticeable in everyday use, but for users who care about color accuracy, the V50 Lite 5G provides a better experience.

Another advantage of the V50 Lite 5G is the low blue light protection technology that should help reduce eye strain making it more comfortable to use for long periods. The V40 Lite 5G also has the same feature but according to Vivo the technology used in the V50 Lite 5G is more up-to-date to provide additional comfort.

Hardware And Software

The V50 Lite 5G comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip, which should be able to offer adequate performance for daily use such as scrolling through social media, watching videos, and running basic applications.

The device comes with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage which can provide enough space for apps and files. However, it does not support microSD cards making internal storage the only option available. Additionally, there is 12GB of Virtual RAM that is automatically built in and cannot be changed by the user.

The V50 Lite 5G feels smooth when scrolling through social media, with smooth screen animations and movements without noticeable lag. However, there is a slight lag when typing messages, especially when switching between apps or during long text input. While this lag is not too disruptive in normal use, it may be less than ideal for users who prioritize speed in communication and productivity.

In terms of gameplay, performance The V50 Lite 5G is dependent on the type of game being played. Honor of Kings can be played at a maximum of 60FPS, but the performance is not completely stable, with frame rates dropping to 57–59FPS in certain situations. There is also some latency and the game sometimes stutters, especially during large-scale attacks. This can affect the gaming experience, especially for players who prioritize frame rate stability.

For Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), the game runs smoothly at 60FPS, with a slight frame drop in the 57–59FPS range. The game recommendation is only at High/High, indicating that the device is capable of running the game at high settings but still has certain limitations. Meanwhile, Genshin Impact can only be played at Low graphics settings (Lowest) with a rate of 30FPS, indicating that the processor chip is not suitable for heavy games that require high processing power.

Despite some performance issues in the game, the V50 Lite 5G did not experience any serious heating issues, and proved that its cooling system does a good job of controlling the temperature during heavy use.

Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15 also offers smooth navigation with animations and stable screen transitions. Its use feels comfortable and almost comparable to the latest Vivo models. In terms of design, the colors in the interface may not be attractive to those who like a more cheerful and colorful style because the visual elements are quite minimalist.

With features such as Circle to Search, the process of searching for information becomes faster and easier by simply making a circle on text or images. Meanwhile, AI Photo Enhancer and AI Eraser technologies also assist in the process of automatically editing simple images, as well as producing clearer and higher quality images without the need for third-party applications.

However, like other Vivo models, there are still ads and pre-installed applications that cannot be removed. This can affect storage usage, thus disrupting a smoother user experience. The presence of ads in the app store and settings menu also actually creates a feeling of discomfort when using the device.

Camera and Image Quality

The V50 Lite 5G camera offers adequate performance for users looking for a device with basic photography capabilities. In normal use, this camera is able to produce clear images, but the colors produced appear less vibrant and not very vivid. To get more interesting results, users can do a little editing or use the color filters provided so that the colors of the image appear sharper and more vibrant.

In portrait mode, edge detection on this camera is sometimes less accurate in separating the subject from the background, especially when the subject is too close to the background, which is a problem that was also experienced by the previous V50 model. However, with good lighting and the use of color filters, users can still obtain satisfactory portrait image results. However, the blur effect may not be perfect, especially in situations where the background is too close to the subject.

In addition, too bright light can cause overexposure of the background, which results in imbalance in the final image result. The focal length on the V50 Lite 5G is also quite limited compared to the V50, which can limit the freedom of users to create more interesting and diverse photo compositions.

The V50 Lite 5G is capable of producing good photos in low light, including at night. However, when there is a brighter light source, such as a store sign, the text in the photo tends to look less sharp and slightly blurry.

Despite some shortcomings, the V50 Lite 5G still has the advantage in terms of ease of use, with an easy-to-understand camera control system and a variety of mode options for users to customize the shot according to their needs.

Furthermore, this device is offered at a lower price than other models in the V50 series that provide more premium cameras. Even so, it is still an attractive option for users looking for a balance between price and photography capabilities.

Overall, the V50 Lite 5G is suitable for casual users who prioritize simplicity and ease in taking photos. While this camera may not be suitable for those who want more sophisticated photography performance, it still offers a satisfying basic photography experience for everyday use.

Battery and Charging

The V50 Lite 5G is equipped with a 6,500mAh BlueVolt battery, specially designed for long-term use without the need for frequent charging. In normal use, the device's screen can last for more than a day, which proves its high energy efficiency. In addition, in endurance tests, the device managed to operate for almost 22 hours carrying out various daily activities such as browsing the internet, watching videos, and using apps simultaneously. When the battery runs out, the 90W FlashCharge fast charging technology is the best solution. With just 20 minutes of charging, the battery can reach up to 50%.
