Xiaomi Unveils Open Source AI Model, MiMo

Xiaomi today made a surprise announcement by unveiling its own open source language model, called MiMo. Xiaomi says it uses 7 billion parameters, and is said to offer better performance and benchmarking than several other models, including the OpenAI o1-mini model.

Xiaomi is focusing on the reasoning features of this open source model, allowing it to respond better to additional analysis and also involve mathematics.
