Anker Malaysia has announced a recall of 4 powerbank models it previously marketed, due to the risk of danger. The 4 models in question are:
Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W) — Model A1257
Anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W, Built-In USB-C Cable) — Model A1647
Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C and Lightning Cable) — Model A1681
Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C Cable) — Model A1689
Anker said earlier this year they had implemented additional safety measures, as well as identified a problem involving lithium-ion battery cells from one of the manufacturers. Anker said that although the probability of it being problematic is low, as a safety measure they are now conducting a global recall of the product.
For those of you who use the affected models, you can check whether your product is affected or not via the official Anker Malaysia page, and if affected, you can apply for a replacement or a rewards card to purchase other Anker products.
