ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X Unveiled With AMD Ryzen AI 2 Extreme – Coming to Malaysia



The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X were officially unveiled today as the first mobile consoles officially supported by Microsoft. The console resembles the ROG Ally X except for the side with two Xbox controller-like handles and special Xbox buttons.


The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally features a 7″ FHD 120Hz screen with FreeSync Premium support, is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 A chip, 16GB LPDDR5X-6400RAM, 512GB M.2 2280 SSD storage, and a 60Wh battery. There are 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with DisplayPort 2.1, a UHS-II microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The SSD storage is user-replaceable.


ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X is equipped with a 7″ FHD 120Hz screen with FreeSync Premium support, powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, 24GB LPDDR5X-8000 RAM, 1TB M.2 2280 SSD storage and an 80Wh battery. There are 1x USB-Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with DP 2.1, a UHS-II microSD card reader and a 3.5mm audio jack. The SSD storage can also be replaced by users themselves.


Both use the Windows 11 operating system which is tuned specifically for mobile consoles and also the Xbox Experience for Handheld which makes the user experience better. In addition to Xbox games, both ROG Xbox Ally also support other game stores such as Steam and Battle.net. Because it is a Microsoft product, the Gaming Copilot feature can also be accessed using the Game Bar.


The Xbox mobile console will launch first in late 2025 in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, United Arab Emirates, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.


Microsoft says it will then enter markets where the ROG Ally is already sold, such as Malaysia. Pricing has not been announced at this time.
