Five operators of the BreachForum site, which was a place where data was being sold, have been arrested by the French police's cybercrime unit, Le Parisien reported. The four site operators and hackers using the names “ShinyHunters,” “Hollow,” “Noct,” and “Depressed” were arrested earlier this week. Meanwhile, another hacker, “IntelBroker,” was arrested in February.
BreachForum is a dark website where Malaysian user data was sold several years ago. In 2023, the site was successfully shut down by authorities after its operator Conor “Pompompurin” FitzPatrick was arrested and brought to court.
It resumed operations when the five individuals above launched BreachForum 2.0. However, the second iteration of this site also stopped operations in April this year, believed to be due to security vulnerabilities.
