Last April, it launched the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol, which allows multiple artificial intelligence (AI) agents to collaborate with each other. Today at Open Source Summit North America, the Linux Foundation announced the Agent2Agent project with Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, SAP, and ServiceNow.
Google is donating A2A directly to the Linux Foundation to manage to foster an open and interoperable ecosystem for multiple AI agents. Since its announcement two months ago, more than 100 companies have now supported the protocol, with AWS and Cisco being the two newest members. They join Atlassian, Box, Cohere, Intuit, Langchain, MongoDB, PayPal, Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, UKG, Workday, Accenture, BCG, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, HCLTech, Infosys, KPMG, McKinsey, PwC, TCS, and Wipro.
With a common protocol, AI agents can discover each other’s capabilities, securely exchange information, and coordinate complex tasks.
