Starting with the design of this tablet, it comes with an 8.8-inch PureSight screen display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 165Hz. This screen display also comes with a brightness value of 500 nits, making it a tablet with a very bright screen.
It is also equipped with a 13MP and 2MP dual-lens camera on the rear, and a selfie camera with a resolution of 8MP on the front. The quality of the pictures taken by this camera is only average, and in my opinion, offered on this device to meet the requirements as a smart device only.
In terms of specifications, this tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is the flagship smartphone processor chip for the end of 2023 and throughout 2024. It also comes with 16GB of memory and 512GB of internal storage. Unfortunately for this tablet, it does not come with any storage expansion slot, nor support for cellular connectivity.
I also have to say that the specifications of the model review sent to me for review (16GB of memory, 512GB of storage) are different from what is offered on the Lenovo Malaysia website (12GB of memory, 256GB of storage).
This small tablet comes with a frame made of aluminum alloy which allows it to come with a very light and thin design. With a weight of 350g and a thickness of 7.79mm, this tablet is compact enough for you to fit it not only in a backpack, but also in a handbag if you are a woman.
The power button and audio volume rocker are located on the right side, and interestingly, the tablet comes with two USB Type-C charging ports, one on the left side, and the other on the bottom of the tablet, if the tablet is positioned vertically.
Both of the tablet's charging ports come with support for PowerDelivery 65W charging, but only the port on the bottom also supports DisplayPort Alt connectivity that can extend the display output to another screen.
These ports also support the pass-through charging feature, which means that the tablet can operate via power supply from a charging device and will not charge the battery. This feature somewhat reduces the likelihood of the tablet's 6550mAH battery losing its ability to hold a charge when left charging for a long period of time.
The Legion Tab Gen 3 tablet also comes with additional accessories such as a cover frame that also functions as a base to prop up the tablet and a screen protector that users can install themselves.
User Experience
As a leisure device, the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 meets some of my needs that may be quite specific. First, it is a smart device that comes in a larger size than a smartphone, but is still small enough for me to carry with me everywhere.
Second, it has a powerful processing chip, and a large battery for me to use for various types of leisure, such as watching or streaming online videos, playing my favorite mobile games, and as a way for me to check my daily schedule and work emails.
At the office, I will use this tablet as a secondary display to allow me to see newly incoming emails. This allows me to enter invitations to launch events, important news, and so on without having to switch focus to the email software on my own laptop.
These are just small things, but for me they help me distribute my attention more efficiently.
Secondly, I also use this tablet as a way to do daily activities in my favorite games like Honkai Star Rail and Wuthering Waves. Normally I would play these games on my PlayStation 5 console or my laptop, but on days when I am too lazy to use the console, I now use the Legion Tab Gen 3 tablet alone to complete daily activities in bed or in the living room.
With Honkai Star Rail, this tablet is powerful enough to run the game at the highest specifications with a refresh rate of 60FPS (the game's limit), but for Wuthering Waves, in order for me to get a refresh rate of around 50-55FPS, I have to lower the game's graphics settings to medium, making the game's graphic details not so beautiful, but playable at higher frame rates.
This Lenovo Legion Tab is also a pretty good tablet as a device for watching videos or for streaming your favorite TV shows and movies. Yes, this tablet comes with a screen size of only 8.8 inches, but let's say you're outside, whether on a bus, train or flight, this tablet has the perfect size for such situations.
This display quality is also combined with speakers that are quite loud for their size. The Dolby Vision and Atmos labels are not just decoration, in fact, for its small size, I was quite surprised by how loud the speakers are on this Legion Tab tablet.
In fact, the volume is not the only quality that I can hear on the speakers. The quality in terms of treble and also how the audio quality does not break when the speakers approach maximum output is something that is quite exciting for me. But if there is one drawback to this feature, it is the limited bass sound. But with the size and use of this device,
Another drawback in terms of audio is that this tablet does not have a 3.5mm audio plug, so if you want to use headphones or earphones with this tablet you will have to use an accessory with support for Bluetooth connectivity with it.
In my experience using this tablet as well, I found that the battery life of this tablet is actually quite long. When I play games like Honkai Star Rail or the recently released Etheria Restart, I can get about 6-7 hours of continuous use, while for video streaming services like YouTube, Netflix and HBO Max, the battery life is about 9-10 hours.
In terms of charging, I found that the 65W charger of this tablet can charge the tablet from empty to full in just about an hour, which for me is quite fast.

At a price of RM2199, the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 is a small tablet that comes with quite powerful specifications. If you are looking for a powerful compact tablet, it is one of the tablets in the market today that you may want to consider buying.
However, it comes with a number of shortcomings that I can say are quite noticeable, such as the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack and a MicroSD storage expansion slot, especially when the device's storage is only 512GB. For normal use, this amount of storage may be sufficient, but if you want to use this tablet as your entertainment and entertainment device, you may need to think about what kind of apps and software can fit on this device.
For now, only models with lower memory and storage (12GB memory, 256GB storage) are offered, and Lenovo Malaysia has yet to confirm if models with higher memory and storage will be offered in the future.
Pros:
Compact tablet design
Long battery life
Powerful enough for modern entertainment applications
Useful features for gamers
Bright display
Loud speakers
Cons:
Not very friendly price tag
No storage expansion options
No 3.5mm audio jack
