The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is actively monitoring online vape or electronic cigarette sales activities. This measure aims to ensure compliance with regulations and control the spread of these products, especially among underage users.
Monitoring is carried out through various digital platforms to identify any sales activities that violate the law. MCMC is also working with relevant parties to take appropriate action against individuals or entities that conduct illegal sales.
The authorities stressed that strict action will be taken against individuals found to be violating the established regulations. This is also in line with the government's efforts in regulating the use of vape and electronic cigarettes and ensuring consumer safety.
The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) previously also reminded that the rule of using vape is haram. This is because the 'illah (reason for determining the law) is harmful and involves waste. In addition, the use of shisha and shisha sticks is also categorized as haram because it can cause harm to the human body.
