My50 is a pass for public transport services covering LRT, Monorail, MRT, Rapid KL buses and BRT buses. Early last January, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that Rapid KL would start accepting My50 pass renewals using TNG eWallet effective May 2025. May turned into June and the feature has not yet been activated. This morning, RapidKL's X account gave a hint that this feature will finally be launched.
In the announcement in November last year, users can also use TNG NFC cards as My50 passes after for a long time it could only be done via MyKad. This feature has been requested by public transport users for a long time because paying using a smartphone is much easier, in line with current developments and does not require a physical card to be issued every time using a public transport vehicle.
Last year, this pass had 220,000 monthly active users compared to only 98,000 users in 2019. It was introduced to reduce the cost of transportation for Malaysians using Rapid KL services.
