NVIDIA RTX 5050 Launched for Desktops and Laptops



The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card for desktops and laptops was launched late last night, offering RTX 5000 series graphics at the most affordable price yet.


Both cards feature Blackwell GB207-based GPUs, featuring 2560 CUDA cores, gen-5 Tensor cores, and gen-4 Ray Tracing cores. The difference lies in the memory usage. The desktop version comes with 8GB GDDR6 memory while the laptop version comes with 8GB GDDR7 memory.


Both use a maximum TGP of 115W allowing desktops with 550 Watt PSUs to use them. In terms of processing power, the RTX 5060 is up to 22% more powerful while the RTX 5070 is 49% more powerful.


According to NVIDIA, the RTX 5050 graphics card will go on sale at the end of July with ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, Galaxy, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC among those offering it to consumers. The card's retail price starts at $249 (~RM 1055) each.
