Earlier this year, Meta, the parent company behind social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads, announced a new partnership with another eyewear company, Oakley.
The glasses, called Oakley Meta, are built on the Oakley Sphaera glasses as a base, and will be loaded with a number of smart features that were showcased on Meta's first smart glasses, the Ray-Ban Meta.
Not many details are known about the Oakley Meta glasses at the moment, other than what was shown earlier this year, but according to new reports, it seems that the focus for the Oakley Meta glasses is on athletes who want to use their glasses to record sports activities.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that the Oakley Meta will not come with a built-in screen display, although Meta is developing such glasses for future products.
The Oakley Meta smart glasses will be unveiled on June 20, with the launch date and price likely to be announced at the event.
