UK Considers Limiting Social Media Time for Children

The UK government is currently considering limiting the time children spend on social media. This move is seen as part of the cybersecurity measures expected to be introduced in the UK.

According to initial considerations, the UK is expected to introduce a two-hour daily usage limit for a social media app, in addition to limiting usage time to 10pm on a given day.

Several apps already offer parental control features. However, not many people know how to activate them or control them. Sometimes the features are hidden with various other settings options – which may not be friendly to many parents out there.

Currently, China is among the countries that offer controls for children and teenagers under 18, including in terms of access to online games.
