Grab has now issued an official statement, denying claims that they are in talks to acquire GoTo. Grab stressed that they are not involved in discussions with GoTo for the purpose of acquisition.
Previously, there were reports that Grab was in talks to acquire GoTo, thus forming one of the giant internet companies in the Southeast Asia region. GoTo is valued at around $7 billion, and the merger of the two companies is expected to lead to a strengthening in the ride-hailing and food delivery arenas in the Southeast Asia region, Indonesia in particular.
Grab, in addition to denying the claims of this acquisition, continued to emphasize that Indonesia is an important market for Grab, and they will continue to offer the best service to customers there.
