Vivo X Fold5 Is the First Android Phone to Support Apple Watch

The Apple Watch was launched 10 years ago and since then it has only been compatible with an iPhone. Apple has received many requests to provide official support for Android but to this day it has not been heeded. This 10-year wait ends this year when the Vivo X Fold5 is launched.

The X Fold5 is Vivo's latest foldable smartphone and in a post on Weibo, the company showed that it is tethered to an Apple Watch Series 9. Owners can make phone calls, receive notifications and save health data directly to the Vivo health app.

This feature was given to the X Fold5 because according to Vivo, many iPhone users have switched to Android and as a result can no longer use the Apple Watch they previously owned.

Vivo did not say how the Apple Watch will be used on the Android operating system. But since then we have seen the AirDrop feature between iOS and Android starting to be included on Chinese-made devices. The Oppo Find N5 also has the unique feature of accessing macOS computers directly from the phone screen remotely.
