Putting a screen on a laptop touchpad is not a new innovation. ASUS and Lenovo offer models with this secondary screen that can display quick software shortcuts, act as a calculator and control music. E Ink is now offering its latest epaper screen that can also be used on a touchpad.
According to E Ink, this screen was developed for the needs of current artificial intelligence (AI) applications. If you are reading a document, a summary of the content can be displayed on the touch screen. It can also display the text of conversations with a chatbot without taking up space on the laptop's main screen.
The integration of AI software and AI services is now inevitable. Several large companies have already mandated its use to increase employee productivity. So what E Ink is offering may be strange now, but in the future laptops with secondary screens will become commonplace.
