This is the Samsung Galaxy G Fold Design with a Tri-Fold Screen

Samsung is developing a tri-fold screen device that is believed to be called the Galaxy G Fold. It is based on a leaked image shared during the Unpacked event and several prototypes shown by Samsung Display. Yesterday, the Galaxy G Fold design was finally leaked through the latest One UI 8 build and was discovered by the Android Authority website.

Animations for some of the features that One UI 8 will support point to a tri-screen device. What is interesting here is that Samsung is not following the Huawei Mate XT design. The two “wings” of the Galaxy G Fold’s right and left screens can be folded inward. On the outside, there is still a secondary screen. You can imagine the Galaxy G Fold is the same as the Z Fold but with an additional window. In fact, a prototype of this screen was shown as the G Flex earlier this year.

The design chosen by Samsung is probably the safest and most practical. In China, early users of the Mate XT reported screen breakage issues because the three-screen design was pulled outward. One corner of the folding screen will be exposed at all times. With one folding screen and one outer screen, Samsung was able to avoid this issue with the Galaxy G Fold.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 will be launched at the Unpacked event on July 9. It is very likely that the Galaxy G Fold will be launched at the event or at least teased like the Galaxy Ring and S25 Edge were teased to be launched a few months later.
