Huawei Pura80 Series Now Enters Global Market With Dual Periscope Lenses Sharing One Sensor



Huawei officially launched the Pura 80 series to the global market through an event held in Dubai today. It continues the continuity from the previous model with a focus on the photography aspect.


Huawei Pura80 Ultra is the most premium model in this latest series. It comes with a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also supports over a billion colors and offers a resolution of 2848 × 1276 pixels for a sharp display in various types of content.


Information about the processor chip was not disclosed but Huawei stated that its performance has been improved compared to the previous generation. The device also offers memory options of up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It also runs the EMUI 15 operating system which includes various new AI-based features.


The Pura80 Ultra's main camera consists of a 1-inch 50MP wide-angle lens with an adjustable aperture of f/1.6 to f/4.0 and OIS support. Also included is a 40MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP periscope telephoto with OIS, a 12.5MP periscope telephoto, and a 1.5MP spectral lens. The front camera uses a 13MP sensor for selfies.


Both periscope telephoto lenses use the same sensor and are located under the largest camera bump on the back of the device. Through this technology, the device offers optical zoom capabilities of up to 3.7X and 9.4X while digital zoom can be up to 100X.


The Pura80 Ultra comes with a 5710mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 80W wireless fast charging. The device also comes with several additional features such as NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and an infrared sensor that adds control functions in daily use.


Huawei Pura 80 Pro is also introduced with a 6.8-inch display using a high-resolution 1276 x 2848 pixel LTPO OLED panel. This screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and offers a maximum brightness of up to 300 nits. For additional protection, it is equipped with Kunlun Glass 2 glass that is more resistant to scratches and shocks.


In terms of memory, the Pura 80 Pro comes with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It is also equipped with a 5710mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless for faster device recharging.


The device's camera system includes a 50MP 1″ main sensor with an adjustable aperture between f/1.4 to f/4.0 and OIS support. It is also equipped with a 40MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens for wide-angle photos and a 48MP macro telephoto. Completing this system is a 1.5MP color spectrum sensor that plays a role in optimizing color and lighting to make images look more natural.


Finally, the Pura 80 is equipped with a 6.6-inch FHD+120Hz LTPO OLED screen. The device uses EMUI 15, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The device's camera capabilities include a 50MP main camera with adjustable aperture (F1.4~F4.0), a 13MP ultra-wide, a 12MP telephoto periscope, and an Ultra Chroma sensor with 1.5 million spectral channels for balanced color reproduction. The device also comes with a 5170mAh battery that supports 66W wired and 55W wireless fast charging.


The Huawei Pura 80 Pro is offered in the UAE market for €1099 (~RM5,474) according to the current exchange rate. Meanwhile, the Pura 80 Ultra model is priced at €1499, which is around RM7,464. As for the Pura 80 model, it has been officially announced but has not yet been listed for sale in the UAE. According to Huawei, the availability of this model will be announced in stages according to each market.


Huawei also confirmed that the device will be offered in the Malaysian market. For now, the official launch date for the local market has not been revealed, but Huawei has informed that more information will be announced in the near future.
