Hugo Boss Introduces 3D Printed Shoes

Fashion brand Hugo Boss recently unveiled a new pair of loafers that have been produced through the 3D printing process. The shoes were designed and manufactured in collaboration with another footwear brand, Zellerfeld, who are also known for their 3D printed shoes.

Shoes produced through traditional techniques would typically combine two to three parts to create a pair of shoes, but with 3D printing technology, these shoes can be produced in one go in just one print.

This same technique is used by Zellerfeld for their shoes, and is used to produce these Hugo Boss shoes. Because of this, these shoes, called Hugo Forward x Zellerfeld, will not be mass-produced, but instead in limited quantities through their website, and will be produced in their factory in Hamburg, Germany.

This is because each shoe produced by Zellerfeld requires a scan of the customer's foot before it is printed to ensure that each shoe produced can fit their feet only.

Looking at the materials used in Zellerfeld's own shoes, the collaboration shoe is likely made from zellerFOAM, a recycled Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) plastic known for its flexibility, durability and toughness.

Hugo Boss and Zellerfeld will be holding promotional events in their stores in Amsterdam and Milan, where customers can also place orders for the shoes. The shoes come in beige, black, red, orange and blue.
