Meta Celeste MR Glasses Design Leaked

Meta Celeste's mixed reality (MR) glasses design has been leaked this week. It's an actual model that may be marketed to the public based on the previously shown Project Orion prototype.

The most notable difference is in terms of size, with Celeste having a slimmer design and a design similar to a pair of Ray-Ban Meta. The electromyography (EMG) controller can also be seen in the leaked image. It is attached directly to the wrist and allows control to be done with just thinking because it reads signals sent by the brain. In terms of size, it is much larger than the prototype from 2021.

Two cameras on the side of the Celeste frame can be seen along with a noticeable bump near the hinge of the glasses' temples. This is believed to be a module for the waveguide device that transmits images to the glasses' lenses for the MR experience.

No additional accessories that house the processor chip and battery pack like the Orion are visible. But it's no secret that Meta wants to get smart glasses like Celeste to market quickly. Google, Samsung and Apple are all racing to launch their own smart glasses. Google partnered with Samsung with a demo at Google I/O in May showing how Android XR devices could replace smartphones.
