National Registration Department Shares Infographics Checking Whether MyKads Need to be Replaced or Not

Because Madani announced that RM100 assistance will be given to all Malaysians aged 18 and above in conjunction with the Merdeka Day celebration on August 31. This RM100 assistance will be credited directly to the MyKad which can then be used to purchase items under the Basic Rahmah Donation (SARA).

After the announcement was made a few days ago, many on social media sites began to wonder whether their MyKads need to be replaced before being able to redeem this assistance. Yesterday, the National Registration Department (JPN) shared an infographic on Facebook that allows Malaysians to know whether their MyKads need to be replaced or not.

If your MyKad cannot be read when trying to do government business, is over 10 years old and has suffered physical damage such as scratches, you are advised to go to the nearest JPN branch to complete the replacement process for a new card.

You have until December 31 to complete the replacement process if you want to redeem the RM100 assistance. After moving to 2026, unredeemed credits can no longer be used.
