Pokemon is a phenomenon that will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026. Who would have thought that Nintendo's animated and video game series about fighting fantasy animals still has fans after almost three decades. In conjunction with this anniversary, Poképark Kanto will open next year, making it the world's first Pokemon theme park. The location chosen is Tama Hills near Tokyo and Kangawa.
Previously, several Pokemon attractions were included in Super Nintendo World, Universal Studios Japan. Poképark Kanto is 2.6 hectares in size and is divided into Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town.
In Pokemon Forest, more than 600 species of Pokemon can be seen by visitors as if they really live in their real habitat. Meanwhile, in Sedge Town there are several attractions such as a stadium, gym, rideable Pikachu and more.
Poképark Kanto will open in autumn 2026 (around October) with pre-booking tickets to be the earliest visitors opening in autumn 2025.
