If you’re looking for a Thunderbolt 5 dock to supplement your limited number of USB ports and other ports, or want to use a powerful graphics card that can be connected to a thin and light laptop that supports the technology, Razer today announced two new Thunderbolt 5 docks for you.
They are the Razer Thunderbolt 5 Dock and the Razer Core X V2, two different docks for two different purposes. The Razer Thunderbolt 5 Dock comes with 10 built-in ports, including a power port to activate the dock, two Thunderbolt 5 ports for connecting to a computer, an RJ-45 port for wired internet connectivity, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Type-C port, a UHS-II SD card reader, an audio combo port for headphones and microphones, and a slot for M.2 SSD storage.
The top of the dock can be opened to access the storage space inside, and this dock can accommodate a PCIe 4.0 SSD storage with a storage capacity of 8TB. In the meantime, it can also support the connection of three screens with a resolution of 4K or a display with a resolution of 8K and a refresh rate of 60Hz without any problems.
The Razer Core X V2 is a desktop-sized graphics card dock that can be used to power the graphics part of a laptop. In terms of laptop support, if your laptop has a Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 plug, you can use this dock with an optional graphics card
To power this dock and graphics card, you will also need a PC power supply, and depending on the graphics card, you will also need to see what graphics cards are supported by this dock. Razer has listed the graphics card options that can be used on their website.
Through the graphics card used, you can connect various types of laptops or mobile PC game consoles, as long as they have a Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 plug.
