Samsung Exynos 2600 Graphics Chip Known as Xclipse 960

In 2019, Samsung and AMD signed a partnership for Samsung to use AMD RDNA graphics processing technology to power the graphics components of Samsung Exynos processing chips, and came with the name Samsung Xclipse.

The partnership continued in 2023, and most recently, the Samsung Exynos 2500 processing chip that powers the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 device is named Samsung Xclipse 950. The graphics chip uses AMD RDNA 3 components consisting of four Work Group Chip groups or 8 Compute Unit chips which are technically powerful enough to drive high-resolution and high-refresh rate displays.

Now, it seems that the Samsung Exynos 2600 chip has started to be tested, and through leaked details, it seems that it will come with an upgraded graphics processing chip known as the Samsung Xclipse 960.

This graphics processing chip comes with the model name S5E9965 and shows a 3DMark Steel Nomad Light benchmark score of 3135, which is reportedly higher than the same benchmark score shown on the Qualcomm Adreno 830 graphics chip shown on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

At the moment, it is not known whether the Xclipse 960 chip still uses AMD RDNA graphics technology (3 or 4) or their own graphics chip. As we know, the Xclipse 950 is built using Samsung's 3nm process. It is likely that Samsung (and perhaps AMD) will announce more details about this when the Samsung Exynos 2600 is officially introduced.
