WhatsApp is reportedly developing a threaded replies feature specifically for use in group chats on iOS devices. For context, it was previously developed for Android but has not yet been launched to the public. It is also similar to the feature used in Telegram to help organize conversations systematically and easily follow.
With this threaded feature, every reply to a message will be collected and displayed in an organized manner below the original message. Users only need to tap on the message they want to reply to and select the reply option to start a new thread. All related replies will then be collected in a special thread that is directly linked to the message.
With a more organized conversation, users can avoid confusion due to scattered replies. It is also expected to benefit various types of conversations including individuals, groups, communities and channels. However, it is still in the development phase and its official launch date has not yet been announced.
