Xiaomi has confirmed the arrival of its latest flagship device model, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra, via a tweet on Weibo. The announcement also marks the continuation of its long-term partnership with the iconic camera brand Leica, which continues as it did four years ago.
During the partnership, Xiaomi has introduced the camera technology in more than 20 of its flagship device models. Now, the brand is ready to go even further with the Xiaomi 16 Ultra, which is promised to come with a comprehensive improvement in the camera system and device performance.
According to a source from Digital Chat Station, the device will be equipped with a new tri-camera system that offers three major improvements in terms of design and technical capabilities. This statement was also supported by Xiaomi representative Lu Weibing, who stated that the camera capabilities of this new model are expected to surpass the achievements of the previous generation.
According to Lu Weibing, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra will create a new benchmark in mobile photography with an improved tri-camera. He also emphasized that Xiaomi and Leica will continue to strengthen their cooperation to offer users an extraordinary image experience.
Apart from bringing significant improvements to the camera system, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra is also reported to come with a large 7,500mAh battery. The device is also expected to be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip which promises energy efficiency and high performance in one package.
The Xiaomi 16 Ultra is expected to make its official global debut during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 event taking place in Barcelona from 2 to 5 March 2026.
