After imposing surprise tariffs on India, perhaps because Apple, the most popular technology brand in the United States, uses the country as a location to manufacture its iPhone devices, Apple CEO Tim Cook went to the White House to discuss with US President Donald Trump the best way to start manufacturing iPhones entirely in the United States.
This latest meeting was seen as quite interesting because Tim Cook also gifted Donald Trump with a sculpture made of a combination of 24-karat gold and Corningware Gorilla Glass.
The glass, which is round in shape, comes with Donald Trump's name and the Apple logo engraved into the glass, along with Tim Cook's signature and name as Apple CEO. He said that the sculpture, especially the glass part, was designed by a former US Marine Corps corporal who now works at Apple, and was manufactured at Corning's factory in Kentucky. The gold base of the sculpture also came specifically from Utah.
🚨 WOW! Apple CEO Tim Cook just presented President Trump with an engraved piece of glass from Apple – custom-engraved for Trump – and it is sitting on a golden holder, on the Resolute Desk.
It was designed by a former US Marine Corporal for Trump who now works at Apple.

Tim Cook's actions are seen as interesting because the United States has just announced an increase in tariffs for products imported from India to the country, and Apple confirmed that this year's iPhone production for the United States market will be produced in India.
