Proton e.MAS EV Owners Can Now Charge at Cheaper Rates in Over 500 Condominiums

An important aspect of owning an electric car is the charging that needs to be done for it. This issue is a major issue especially for EV owners who live in condominiums due to the lack of charging, unlike houses on land where owners can usually install charging boxes directly. However, more and more condominiums are now also being installed with EV chargers, and PRO-NET today announced a special charging rate of RM 0.63 / kWh for e.MAS EV owners in over 500 condominiums.

To get this rate, e.MAS owners need to use the Proton e.MAS app and activate charging through it. This exclusive rate covers over 1,500 charging plugs in over 500 condominiums throughout Malaysia, with condominium locations including in the Klang Valley, Penang, Johor, Sabah, Sarawak and other major cities. Using the Proton e.MAS application, the charging networks it supports include ChargEV, Gentari, JomCharge, Time Charge ’n Go, ChargeSini, Shell Recharge, Carput Zap, DC Handal, eCharge+ and Rexharge.

This charging discount of RM 0.63/kWh is available until 31 December 2026. With such a discount, it is seen to offer long-term savings when activating charging via the Proton e.MAS application when compared to direct charging, such as JomCharge which charges RM 0.70/kWh or Time Charge n Go RM 0.90/kWh. In fact, at a rate of 0.63/kWh, this is also somewhat close to TNB’s ToU charging rate at home during peak hours of RM 0.28/kWh

You can go to the Proton e.MAS Charging page to check if your multi-storey residence has charging that can be activated via the Proton e.MAS application. With such a discount, even for a limited period, it will still benefit the owner and remove the stigma of EV ownership for residents of multi-storey residences.
