Apple Reportedly Considering Buying Perplexity and Mistral AI

Apple is widely seen as lagging behind other tech companies in the artificial intelligence arena. Not to mention that several members of the Apple team have joined other companies, and Apple itself is facing challenges in introducing a number of promised features.

In an effort to strengthen their offering, Tim Cook previously stated that he was open to acquiring other companies. In parallel, there are now reports that Apple is considering acquiring popular intelligence firms.

The two names mentioned are Perplexity, an artificial intelligence firm that focuses on search support, in addition to offering a specialized web browser integrated with artificial intelligence. In addition, another name mentioned is Mistral, which is based in Europe.

Both parties have not commented on the matter. Apple has a lot of funds that can support the acquisition of other companies. However, several things need to be considered, including integration with the company, in addition to whether it is in line with Apple's own mission and vision.

The same report also said that there is a team within Apple that believes it can develop its own artificial intelligence offerings, and does not need to rely on acquisitions of other companies.
