CelcomDigi today announced that the company's Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Idham Nawawi, will step down from his position on August 31, 2025. According to several press reports, the resignation was due to personal reasons.
Datuk Idham Nawawi held the position of CEO of telecommunications company Celcom Bhd in 2018 before the merger of both Celcom and Digi at the end of 2022, where he held the position of CEO again until now.
It was also reported that the company's Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Albern Murty, who joined CelcomDigi after the merger of the two telecommunications giants, will assume the position of acting CEO of the company when Datuk Idham Nawawi leaves the position later.
Albern Murty was also the CEO of telecommunications company Digi for seven years before the merger of the two companies. CelcomDigi also confirmed that Datuk Idham Nawawi will take over as the company's advisor after his resignation until November 30, 2025.
