The Electric Train Service Route 3 (ETS3) to Johor Bahru Sentral and Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) will commence operations by the end of this year. According to Transport Minister Anthony Loke, the ETS3 from Kuala Lumpur station to JB Sentral will be operational by December with travel to Kluang starting on August 30. With the opening of the ETS3 route, ETS services can now be carried out from Padang Besar in the North to Johor Bahru along a length of 952 km.
Meanwhile, the LRT 3 service or its official name, the Shah Alam LRT route, will only be operational before the end of 2025. The route has experienced several delays even though 99.21% of construction was completed by mid-July this year.
Anthony Loke's announcement is certainly disappointing for residents who need a connection between Bandar Utama station in Petaling and Johan Setia station in Klang, which was originally expected to commence operations on September 30. According to him, the delay is due to several tests that have not yet been carried out by the operator.
