The government is now set to introduce and implement new guidelines for short-term rentals like Airbnb services, by the end of 2025 or early 2026. These new guidelines will be more structured, and will make it easier for relevant parties to implement and manage short-term rental services.
Under this new implementation, premises offering short-term rental services will need to obtain a business operating license from local authorities, and can then register as tourist accommodation.
At the same time, this legislation is also expected to include changes and improvements to licensing, insurance coverage, and digital platform registration, as well as the establishment of a Tourism Tribunal.
