Instagram Limits Live Streaming to Accounts with Over 1000 Followers

Previously, all users were free to use the Instagram Live feature without any follower restrictions. Now, Instagram is setting a minimum requirement of 1,000 followers to go live. This change is a significant barrier for new creators who are still in the process of building a community on the platform.

Although Meta has not provided an official explanation, this change is seen as an effort to curb abuse of new accounts and improve the quality of streaming. With this move, Instagram is now more in line with other platforms such as TikTok and YouTube, which each set between 50 and 100 followers for live broadcasts.

This change could have a direct impact on new content creators, especially those who have not yet reached 1000 followers. This setting not only tightens the filters in the social media ecosystem but also limits the opportunities for new content creators to interact with their communities.
