Instagram has added a new Link Reels feature that allows users to link multiple Reels in a segmented or connected manner. This allows viewers to follow related content continuously.
Through this feature, users can link one Reel with another Reel that is related to a specific theme or topic. New or published Reels can be linked except for content for subscriptions or close friends.
When creating a new Reel, users simply need to tap on ‘Link a reel’ under the caption, select the content to link and add a title of up to 15 characters. If there is no title, it will be automatically named ‘Linked reel’ and can be edited later. Once done, tap the OK button and share the Reel content.
For published content, users can open the Reel and tap the menu icon on the right. If there is no link, they can select ‘Add linked reel’. If it is already linked, select ‘Edit linked reel’ to make changes.
Users can change the link through the ‘Change reel’ section or remove it by ‘Unlink’. Once the link is removed, the Reel is no longer part of the original series. The feature is rolling out globally and will be available to all Instagram users soon.
