IQOO has confirmed the name of its latest flagship model as iQOO 15, indicating its decision to skip the number 14 in its device series. This move is believed to be related to cultural beliefs that exist in several Asian countries and consider the number 4 to be a bringer of bad luck. The same situation is also being followed by other brands from China, although there are exceptions such as Xiaomi.
This initial announcement is seen as the start of the campaign for the iQOO 15 series. Its launch is also expected to be earlier than the iQOO 13 model which was introduced in October last year and launched a month later. It is also expected to offer improved specifications including the use of Qualcomm's new flagship chip which may be known as the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
