TikTok is now coming with an app specifically for users in Europe, called TikTok Pro. Through this app, it offers a variety of existing content as in the original TikTok offering, but with a reduction of some features that may be considered annoying by some users.
Among the features that are not included are the absence of live broadcast content, or the TikTok Shop feature. The app also does not include any ads.
This offering step is seen in line with various laws in Europe that platform providers must comply with, or may face difficulties operating there. Previously, Meta also faced problems with advertising displays in the region, and provided the option of a monthly subscription plan for ad-free use of products like Facebook and Instagram.
Currently, TikTok is still testing TikTok Pro on a limited basis, and is only offered in Germany and Portugal for now, through the Apple App Store only.
