Meta is reported to be launching its MR Hypernova pinta glasses as early as September. This is to ensure that the momentum from Ray-Ba Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN sales can continue. According to a Counterpoint Research report, Meta will hold 73% of the global smart glasses market in H1 2025.
The pinta glasses market is also growing rapidly with a growth of 110% compared to H1 2024. It is driven by sales of smart glasses from Meta, Huawei, Xiaomi, TCL-RayNeo, Kopin Solos and Thunderobot. Meta's share has surged, causing Huawei's share of second place to shrink since H1 2024.
Another interesting statistic is that in H1 2024, AI-powered smart glasses only accounted for 46% of sales, rising to 78% in H1 2025. The era of AI-powered smart glasses has begun, and will be replaced by AI-powered MR smart glasses in the coming months.
The largest market for smart glasses is the United States, followed by Europe and China. Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cool once predicted that smart glasses will replace smartphones. Will this prediction come true sooner than originally thought?
