Pos Malaysia Suspends International Postal Services to the United States

Effective August 25, 2025, Pos Malaysia has temporarily suspended all international postal services to the United States until a date to be announced. Affected services include:

Express Mail Service (EMS)

International Air & Surface Parcel

International Small Packet

International Flexipack

International Tracked Packet

International Mail

The suspension is due to the US government's executive order revoking the "de minimis" exemption for low-value shipments under $800 (~RM 3380). This has made customs requirements more complicated and airlines are not prepared to accept postal shipments under the new rules. Customers who still want to send mail to the United States can use the commercial service Redly Express.

Malaysia is not the only country to begin suspending postal shipments to the United States. Other countries that have made similar announcements this week include India, Singapore, France, Italy, the UK, Australia, Thailand, China and Canada.
