Tim Cook Open to Acquisitions to Accelerate Apple's AI Development

Apple today can be said to be lagging behind in the development of artificial intelligence. The functions promised under Apple Intelligence have not arrived, while a number of their employees involved in the development of artificial intelligence have moved to other competing companies.

This has led to public questions regarding Apple's strategy in the artificial intelligence arena. Responding to this, Tim Cook, Apple CEO, said that they will continue to make high investments in artificial intelligence technology.

At the same time, Apple is also always looking for acquisitions of companies regardless of size that can help Apple in the development of artificial intelligence offerings.

In addition, Apple is also currently restructuring and reorganizing their employees to focus more on the development of artificial intelligence features. Today, Apple offers several features under "artificial intelligence", in addition to collaborating with OpenAI to offer a built-in ChatGPT feature.

Unlike Apple, Meta under Mark Zuckerberg is seen to focus entirely on the development of artificial intelligence offerings, in addition to also seeing it as the main core in the offering of smart glasses moving forward. Alibaba in China is also doing the same with its offering of smart glasses that come with built-in artificial intelligence. Any delay in the development of artificial intelligence by Apple is also seen to have an impact on the development of new products, as well as new innovations through their existing products.
