Apple iPhone 17 Pro No Longer Uses Titanium Body

With the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, Apple restarted the trend of using titanium frames on smartphones. This metal is lighter and more durable than aluminum. But uniquely this year, the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are no longer offered with this exotic metal.

Instead, the bodies of both models return to using aerospace-grade aluminum metal. According to Apple, this is because the body of the iPhone 17 Pro series is now a new unibody frame carved from a single block of aluminum. When matched with a new cooling chamber, this aluminum frame will provide 20x better cooling performance than titanium metal.

For those who still want Apple's titanium device, the iPhone Air is a new model that retains the titanium body frame or bought last year's iPhone 16 Pro model.
