Garmin Malaysia has officially brought the latest Garmin Fēnix 8 MicroLED smartwatch to the local market. The watch is offered in a 51mm size with a black finish. It will be sold for RM8,479 starting next October via Shopee, Lazada, AECO e-store and authorized distributors throughout Malaysia.
The main highlight of this new model lies in the use of a MicroLED display that can reach a brightness of up to 4,500 nits. This makes this new model brighter than a regular OLED display. This display also offers a wide viewing angle and a color range of around 15% wider to produce accurate colors.
The Garmin Fēnix 8 MicroLED is equipped with various health, fitness, navigation and smart connectivity features. Among the functions included are Endurance Score, Hill Score, daily exercise recommendations, built-in TopoActive maps, Garmin ECG application, sleep coach, Garmin Pay as well as safety and tracking features.
The use of MicroLED technology affects battery life. With the Always-on Display (AOD) function enabled, the battery lasts for about four days. While with normal use, the watch can last up to 10 days.
This model comes with a 1.4-inch screen with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels, 32GB of RAM and 10ATM water resistance. While the global version supports LTE modem and satellite emergency functions via an InReach subscription, the Malaysian version does not include such support at this time.
