Honor First Smartphone Brand to Include MyDigital ID App Built-in

As everyone is aware, MyDigital ID is a Malaysian government initiative to provide secure and trusted digital identities to the people. Today, Honor Malaysia and MyDigital have signed a memorandum of understanding making Honor the only smartphone brand to support the government’s initiative to further strengthen the use of digital identities. The signing ceremony was witnessed by HONOR South Pacific President Justin Li and MyDigital ID Chief Executive Officer Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim.

Through this collaboration, the MyDigital ID app will be pre-installed on Honor’s latest devices to make it easier for users to access this app quickly and easily to digital identity verification services. This initiative is also an important step towards the government’s digital transformation which targets 15 million Malaysians to register with the MyDigital ID system by the end of this year.

In addition, Honor is also proud to be the first smartphone brand to support the Malaysian government’s initiative, thus further strengthening their commitment to co-creating open collaborative value-sharing solutions and redefining human-device interactions. In the future, both parties hope to expand this collaboration to other connected devices and platforms to provide a seamless and easy-to-use MyDigital ID experience.

This collaboration will begin with the Honor X9d 5G device, which will be officially launched today and will come with the MyDigital ID app pre-installed. Users can register their biometrics directly in the app during the registration process to seamlessly access other services. This will help reduce the risk of fraud and ensure secure access to the service.
